Rijschool Zomer: a family business with history
The driving school was founded in 1966 by Mr Zomer in the vicinity of Vriezenveen. In 1988, Serge’s father joined the company and in 1990 he took over the business when Mr Zomer retired. Because Autorijschool Zomer was a household name in the region, Serge’s father decided to keep the name.
How Serge continues the driving school
In 2021, Serge’s father passed away after a short illness, leaving Serge with the task of continuing the business. Due to the legal form of the sole proprietorship, he was unable to officially take over the company, so he deregistered it with the Chamber of Commerce and continued under his own name.
He chose a name that better reflects the breadth of his offering: Rijschool Zomer (Summer Driving School). In addition to car driving lessons, he also offers lessons for the trailer driving licence (BE).
The result is a modern driving school that combines the trusted values of the past with the quality of today.
